Poster Presentations


Welcome! We are glad you are considering submitting a poster for the MNNP Fall 2018 Education
Conference. Posters should reflect one of the following categories: advanced practice nursing activities,
clinical innovations, translation of research to practice, policy, or systems improvement. MNNP will review only completed submissions.


Dates for Submission

Submissions will be accepted beginning Thursday, September 27, 2018. The deadline for abstract submissions is 11:59 PM Central on Friday, October 19, 2018.



If your abstract is accepted you will be notified by October 31, 2018. Required forms (Conflict of Interest and Presenting Author forms) will be emailed with selection notice. These forms will be due November 15, 2018.


Judging Criteria


Each abstract will be evaluated through a blinded, peer review process by members of the MNNP education committee and MNNP Board members. Abstracts will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Presentation of Abstract: grammar, spelling, clarity
  • Content: substantive, current, of interest to potential attendees, outcomes presented
  • Relevance to APRN practice
  • Relevance to the conference goals


Abstracts submitted must relate to one or more of these conference goals:


Learning Outcomes

Through participation in the MNNP Annual Conference, the participant will be able to:

1.      Review evidence-based practice recommendations on the diagnosis and management of common clinical conditions

2.      Evaluate safety initiatives and evidence-based quality improvements for integration in the delivery of care across practice settings and specialties. 

3.      Assess organizational and individually-driven initiatives to foster a culture of health and promote individual and community well-being.

4.      Appraise the value of commitment to and empowerment on organizational outcomes.


Abstract Requirements

  • Abstracts must be 350 words or less.
  • Abstracts must be blinded - all references to the organizations and/or authors by name must be omitted from the title, program description, and body of the abstract in order to ensure a fair, unbiased review process.
  • Abstracts must evidence advanced practice nursing activities and/or system improvements. Abstracts must include the:
    • background, purpose and description of the advanced practice nursing initiative or systems improvement project
    • implementation strategies
    • evaluation of the impact/effectiveness on the organization or population
    • implications for practice and/or the profession.
  • Abstracts must reflect implemented projects or studies that are completed through data collection and analysis.

Presenter Requirements

Poster presenters will be required to:

  • Submit the final electronic version of the poster in PDF format by 11:59pm, November 15, 2018
  • Once the final version of the poster is submitted and approved, no changes can be made.
  • Attend the conference
  • Bring the poster to the conference for display
  • Be present to answer questions during designated times as part of the conference continuing education program

Who may submit?

· Students currently enrolled in a graduate NP education program

· Nurse practitioners

November 30 and December 1, 2018.
