Opportunities within MNNP

 

Have you been thinking about how you can get involved in your local NP community?  MNNP is currently seeking volunteers to assist with coordination of vital member activities:

communication

- managing MNNP social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter) in order to have a lively online presence to attract new members and engage current members 

- assisting with the quarterly MNNP newsletter

- Keeping MNNP website up to date with relevant and timely information 

membership

- hosting or assisting with hosting local MNNP social/networking opportunities 

legislative  

- organizing or assisting with advocacy or informational events regarding local political interests 

education

- Assisting with conference planning

- organizing or assisting with educational opportunities/events throughout the year

 

or... if you have ideas for how to improve how MNNP operates and you think you could help, we would love to hear your ideas!

 

MNNP is also in search of members who are interested in serving as Regional Representatives !

 

a.    WHY: “The more we communicate with each other to share common experiences and address issues, the better we can meet the needs of our patients as we strengthen our profession. We have over 4000 nurse practitioners in our state who serve unique communities with different patient populations and business structures.

b.    ROLE: The regional representative role is to partner with MNNP to provide a connection for NPs in specific regional areas.

c.    CONTACT: Regional representatives will communicate with NPs in each region and let them have a place where they can learn about upcoming community events and so that NPs can communicate NP experiences in their particular region.

 

We are in need of regional representatives in the following areas:

SE Metro, NW Metro, St. Cloud

Medical Reserve Corps

 

The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a national network of volunteers, organized locally to improve the health and safety of their communities. The MRC network comprises 991 community-based units and almost 200,000 volunteers located throughout the United States and its territories.

MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals, as well as other community members without healthcare backgrounds. MRC units engage these volunteers to strengthen public health, improve emergency response capabilities and build community resiliency. They prepare for and respond to natural disasters, such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards, and floods, as well as other emergencies affecting public health, such as disease outbreaks. Medical Missions

MedicalMissions.org is a 501(c)3 organization that connects medical volunteers and other volunteers with organizations sponsoring medical missions all over the world. Our services are 100 percent free for both medical volunteers who register and mission organizations posting their opportunities.

The goal of MedicalMissions.org is to connect healthcare providers with organizations sponsoring medical missions by offering a free, searchable database of health-related volunteer opportunities and medical mission trips. These include short and long-term medical volunteer opportunities, both domestic and international. Click the link above for more information.

St. Mary's Clinic

In the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, St. Mary’s Health Clinics (SMHC) will carry out the healing ministry of Christ by providing necessary and accessible health services to the medically uninsured and underserved. Click the link above for more information.

 

American Association of Nurse Practitioners

The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is the largest and only full-service national professional membership organization for nurse practitioners (NPs) of all specialties. There are a number of volunteer opportunites for members. Click the link above for more information
